The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum – Miami
Miami is a home to many art museum in the mission education of diversity, creativity and history thru arts. The Modesto Maidique Campus of Florida International University is the home of the The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum that exhibits the magnificent art collection since 1977.
The Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum was formerly called the The Art Museum at FIU in 1977 with only 3000 square feet. The remarkable growth of the Frost Art Museum in 1980’s and 1990 has lead to widespread recognition and award and desgnated as a Major Cultural Institution by South Florida and Miami-Dade County. The Frost Art Museum was accredited by American Associations of Museums (now the American Alliance of Museums) and gained re accreditation in 2011. It was only in 2003 when The Art Museum was renamed to Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum for its breakthrough development with innovative renovations and improved facilities. Through the support of private donation and government agencies, the Frost Art Museum was able to give out free admission to exhibitions and public events. The museum showcases ancient art collection and continually exhibits modern art pieces. With other programs, the Frost Art Museum were able to reach out and welcome local and tourists for a free admission.
