The Best Public Park in 2007 by New Times is formerly a rock quarry and now a 249-acre park. It is named in honor of A.O. Greynolds, the head of Ojus Rock Company, who deeded the land over to Miami-Dade County Parks Department in 1936.Greynolds Park North Miami Beach , one of the last well-protected natural areas of North Miami-Dade County, is a habitat for different animals like the really big Tarpon, family of raccoons, turtles, crane, iguanas, crabs, falcon and other animals and variety of plants. It is situated in a lush area of North Miami Beach distinguished by the vast area of all kinds of foliage and old, majestic trees. There is so much to do at this park whether it may be for adventure or for a break from the hustle-bustle.
Expect a breath-taking spot at Greynolds Park North Miami Beach to just relax or take pictures under the shade of old majestic trees. They have sheds, benches and tables which is comes with a barbeque griller. Great for picnics or for a gathering on special events. Feel the cool breeze and take a tour around the park and discover the wonderful nature this park is offering.Watch out for the “over-friendly” raccoons around. It is a well-kept park that offers various activities like fishing, kyaking, canoeing and even sports. You can have the kids at the playground while you can stroll around the bird rookery, mangrove boardwalk, observation mound, paved path around a lagoon, historical boat house,lake area where you can feed the ducks and ride the paddle boats. Take time to be with the animals for Bird and butterfly walks, historical nature walks, bat and owl walks. the park is also offering Eco-adventure tours offered. Bond with the group and get into sports in their volleyball courts and golf courses. There are also exciting activities at night like Greynolds Park Love-In and Bluegrass Music Festival.
